YONKERS, NY - Playing in their final game of the 2025 season, the Yeshiva Men's Soccer Team fell at Sarah Lawrence College, losing to the Gryphons by a score of 6-2 on Wednesday, Oct. 29th.
Offensively, the Maccabees were helmed by the Lavinsky brothers, with
Hadar Lavinsky and
Barel Lavinsky accounting for both of Yeshiva's goals on the night.
On the defensive side of the ball,
Aiden Zrihen and
Abraham Gabay each played a half in goal, tallying one save apiece.
With the result, the Macs close out their season with a record of 1-8-4, 1-6-4 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sarah Lawrence dominated the first half, tallying four goals through the first 30 minutes of play while holding the Maccabees scoreless. YU was not without their chances to respond, tallying three shots on the period, but could not find paydirt.
- Yeshiva's attempts finally kept true early in the second half. Fielding a free kick from his brother, Barel Lavinsky headed the ball just inside the corner of the goal, getting the Macs on the board at 4-1 in the 48th minute.
- Hadar Lavinsky tallied a score of his own just five minutes later, taking full advantage of a free kick from just outside the box to shrink YU's deficit to two at 4-2.
- However, despite continued pressure from the Maccabee offense, those two goals would prove YU's last of the match. Sarah Lawrence went on to score twice more, with Yeshiva closing out the contest with a 6-2 loss.
