HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Set one started off tough for the Macs, as the Gothic Knights opened with a commanding 7-0 run. Yeshiva finally broke through when Shklyar, off a set from Trabelsi, put the Macs on the board. The team fought to close the gap, highlighted by a strong kill from Osen that brought the score to 6-10. However, NJCU's offense remained relentless, extending their lead to double digits. Two powerful kills from Frohlich kept Yeshiva in the fight, but the Gothic Knights' consistent attack proved too much to overcome, resulting in a 25-11 loss for the Macs in the opening set.

  • Set two started as a back-and-forth battle, with the Macs and Gothic Knights trading points. NJCU then found their rhythm from the service line, sparking a run that pushed the score to 7-2. Yeshiva responded with grit — kills from Werta and Frohlich, paired with two impressive service aces from Werta, brought the Macs within one. However, that would be the last push from Yeshiva's offense, as NJCU surged ahead with two dominant runs to close out the set, taking it 25-9.

  • Set three began with momentum for the Macs as Trabelsi delivered a service ace to secure the first point. Yeshiva stayed competitive early on, trailing by just one at 5-4. However, NJCU quickly found their groove, unleashing an 11-1 run that put the Macs on their heels. Determined to fight back, Yeshiva responded with kills from Frohlich and Trabelsi, followed by another Trabelsi ace, narrowing the gap to 21-9. Despite their efforts, the Macs couldn't halt NJCU's powerful offense, dropping the set 25-11, as the Gothic Knights sealed the match victory.
