Softball Falls at Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, NY - Taking on their final non-conference opponent of the season, the Yeshiva Softball Team fell to Brooklyn College, dropping a double header to the Bulldogs by scores of 17-2 and 8-0 on Friday, Mar. 28th.

The Maccabees were led by Alyssa Feldman, with the junior tallying two hits and a run across the pair of contests.

With the results, the Macs are now 1-13.

HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 1 (L, 17-2)
  • The Macs fell behind early, surrendering four runs in the first inning, four in the second, and three in the third.

  • Yeshiva was finally able to get on the board in the top of the fourth, when Tali Schimmel scored on a Zahava Moskowitz fielder's choice.

  • While YU was able to put up one more run in the fifth when Feldman crossed home on a passed ball, the effort was not enough to usurp the Bulldogs' hold on the game, dropping the contest, 17-2.

  • Hits: Bender (1), Feldman (1)
  • RBIs: Moskowitz (1)

HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 2 (L, 8-0)
  • YU's offense saw less success in game two, only managing one hit when Feldman singled to center field in the top of the fourth.

  • Yeshiva's pitching had much more luck however, with Alexis Leibowitz holding the Bulldogs to just eight runs and eight hits from the mound.

  • Unfortunately, stellar play from the circle was not enough to wrest away control of the contest, with the Macs ultimately falling, 8-0.
