Women’s Tennis Drops Close Match to Saint Joseph in Spring Opener

QUEENS, NY - Playing in their first of two spring matches, the Yeshiva Women's Tennis Team fell to the University of Saint Joseph, losing to the Blue Jays by a score of 4-3 on Sunday, Mar. 30th.

On top of being their Spring opener, the match served as Senior Night for the Maccabees, with graduating seniors and co-captains Shira Adler, Sarah Leiderman and Sarah Grunseid being honored before first serve.

About the trio, Head Coach Ira Miller had to say, "we want to thank our three seniors for their amazing contributions to the team's success."

The Macs started out slow, dropping all three doubles matches to go into singles play trailing, 1-0. While YU were able to pick up three singles wins, the effort was not enough to overcome their early deficit, ultimately dropping the match, 4-3.

With the loss, YU is now 4-6 on the season.
