PURCHASE, NY - Proving to have accumulated no rust despite two and a half weeks of break, the Yeshiva Men's Tennis Team downed Manhattanville University, sweeping the Valiants 7-0 on Wednesday, Apr. 23rd.
Yeshiva started out strong in doubles play, taking the first two matches to secure an early 1-0 lead. The Maccabees carried that level of excellence into singles, locking down all matches in straight sets for a clean 7-0 win.
With the result, the Macs improve to 7-3, 6-0 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Doubles:
- The Macs came out of the gate hot in doubles, with the duos of David Cattan/Eithan Sapir and Mark Adler/Harry Radinsky taking quick 6-4 and 6-1 wins respectively.
- With the third match declared retired due to the first two victories, YU carried a 1-0 lead into singles play.
Singles:
- Not letting their momentum dissipate, Yeshiva continued to press their conference foe. Matan Kamhi (7-6, 6-2), Jacob Pfeifer (6-4, 6-4), Israel Bussu (6-0, 6-1), Leo Rahmey (6-4, 6-2) and Ethan Rolnick (6-0, 6-1) all secured straight-set victories, cementing the 7-0 Maccabee win.
