BRONX, NY - Taking on a non-conference opponent, the Yeshiva Women's Volleyball Team fell to Lehman College, losing to the Lightning by a score of 3-0 on Monday, Oct. 19th.
The Maccabees were led by the duo of
Elle Ohayon and
Eliana Rosenberg. Ohayon helmed the YU attack with five kills and an ace, while Rosenberg tallied team leading marks of five assists and 15 digs.
With the result, the Macs are now 0-9 on the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first set proved a back-and-forth affair, with the lead changing hands six times through 34 serves before settling at 17-all. From there however, Lehman pulled away, going on an 8-0 run to close out the period, 25-17.
- Despite keeping things close early on, seeing the scoreboard read 5-5 through 10 serves, the Maccabee offense was kept in check in set number two. While Yeshiva was able to crack a double-digit point total off of Lightning errors, the Macs could not make the most of the opportunity, dropping the period, 25-11.
- Yeshiva's attack once again found its footing in the third set. Kills from Ohayon and Eden Rosenstock kept the Macs within striking distance, trailing by just two points at 17-15. Unfortunately, YU could not close the gap, scoring just three more points to Lehman's eight as the Lightning took the set, 25-18, and the match, 3-0.
