NEW YORK, NY - Picking up their first win of the season, the Yeshiva Women's Volleyball Team took down Medgar Evers College, defeating the Cougars by a score of 3-0 on Sunday, Oct. 25th.
The Maccabees proved so dominant in the matchup that two new program records were set, both from the service line.
Elle Ohayon set a new mark of excellence for service aces in a match with 17, while the team as a whole also broke the record for service aces in a match, setting it now at 31.
On top of her serving prowess, Ohayon led YU in all stages of the game, putting up 10 kills, four digs, and three assists.
With the result, the Macs are now 1-10 on the year.
HOW IT HAPPENED

- Yeshiva's attack continued to roll in the second set, proving even more dominant. Jumping out to leads of 11-1 and 18-3, the Maccabees never gave Medgar Evers a chance, holding the point total of their cross town rival to single digits and taking the period, 25-9.
- YU continued to hum in the third set, once again leaping out to an early edge at 14-1. While the Cougars fought back, pushing their point total to nine, kills from Naomi Harpaz, Naava Bodek, and Ohayon shut down any attempts at a comeback, securing the set, 25-9, and the match, 3-0.
