Women’s Volleyball Drops Conference Matchup to Farmingdale

BRONX, NY - Traveling out to the campus of Lehman College, the Yeshiva Women's Volleyball team fell to Farmingdale State College, losing to the Rams by a score of 3-0 on Tuesday, Oct. 27th.

The Maccabees were led by the duo of Elle Ohayon and Naomi Harpaz. Both tallied two kills, while Harpaz added four aces and Ohayon scooped 12 digs.

With the result, the Macs are now 1-11, 0-8 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Yeshiva's offense got off to a slow start, struggling in set one. The Rams leapt out to a 23-5 lead, and while a kill from Ohayon and pair of consecutive aces from Harpaz helped push the YU point total into double digits, the effort was not enough, as the Macs fell, 25-11.

  • The second set proved a more back-and-forth affair, with the score tied at 6-all through 12 serves. From there Farmingdale was able to secure some breathing room, yet the Maccabees proved persistent, not allowing their conference foe more than a six-point lead, and coming within three at 17-14. Unfortunately, the Rams closed out the set strong, riding an 8-0 run to a 25-14 win in the period.

  • YU's offensive struggles came about once again in the third set. The Macs were held to just three kills and eight points, dropping the period, 25-8, and the match, 3-0.
