NEWBURGH, NY - Opening Skyline play with a bang, the Yeshiva Men's Tennis Team took down Mount Saint Mary College, defeating the Knights by a score of 5-2 on Thursday, Mar. 19th.
The Maccabees got off to a slow start, dropping two of three doubles matches and carrying a 1-0 deficit into singles play. Undeterred, YU rallied in singles, picking up wins in five of six contests to come away with the 5-2 victory.
With the result, the Macs improve to 3-4, 1-0 in conference play.

- Intent on proving their status as one of the top dogs in the Skyline, the Maccabees surged in singles play, picking up straight set wins in the No. 2, No. 3 No. 5, and No. 6 seeded matches as Bussu (6-4, 6-0), Stephen (6-4, 6-4), Goldstein (6-2, 7-5), and Zahavi (6-3, 6-4) all came out on top.
- The only contested Maccabee win came in the No. 1 match, when Feit overcame a first set loss for a 4-6, 6-0, 6-2 victory.
- Mount Saint Mary did manage to pick up a win in the No. 4 slot, but by that point the Macs had the dual match well in hand, leaving Newburgh with the 5-2 victory.
