Softball Drops Season Finale to UMSV

NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Taking the diamond for the final time in the 2026 season, the Yeshiva Softball Team fell to the University of Mount Saint Vincent, dropping a doubleheader to the Dolphins by scores of 21-0 and 24-0 on Friday, May. 1st.
 
The Maccabees were led by the duo of Aliza Feldman and Layla Hellman, with each player tallying a hit.
 
With the result, the Macs finish the season with a record of 0-25, 0-18 in conference play.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 1 (L, 21-0)
  • The Maccabees struggled offensively through the first two innings, only managing one baserunner when Maya Dennen drew a walk in the bottom of the first.
     
  • YU's best chance to score came in the third, putting runners on the corners with two outs. However, one final strikeout ended the inning, leaving both runners stranded.
     
  • Yeshiva tallied one more hit in game one, with Layla Hellman singling in the bottom of the fourth.
     
  • UMSV had no such offensive woes, putting up seven runs in the first, five in the second, two in the third, one in the fourth, and six in the fifth.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED - Game 2 (L, 24-0)
  • Yeshiva bats continued to struggle in game two, with the Macs being held without a hit.
     
  • The Maccabees were not without their chances to threaten runs, with Dennen, Hellman, Shira Pfeiffer, Elle Ohayon, and Aliza Feldman all reaching on walks. Unfortunately, all five runners were left stranded after getting on base.
     
  • The Dolphins tallied seven runs in the first, five in the second, five in the third, three in the fourth, and four in the fifth.
