FARMINGDALE, NY - Taking on their first Skyline opponent of the season, the Yeshiva Women's Tennis Team fell to Farmingdale State College, losing to the Rams by a score of 7-0 on Wednesday, Sep. 9th.
 
The Maccabees started slow in doubles play, dropping all three matches to go into singles trailing, 1-0. Unfortunately, YU could not turn things around in singles play, losing all six and falling, 7-0.
 
With the result, the Macs are now 0-2 on the year, 0-1 in conference play.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Doubles:

• Yeshiva battled in their doubles matchups, with the duos of Eliana Tilem/Leebee Bendheim and Rachel Hirt/Efrat Ohayon both pushing their matches to close 7-5 losses. However, along with the pair of Jackie Carter/Sarah Schewitz dropping their contest by a score of 6-1, the Maccabees closed out doubles down, 1-0.

 
Singles:

• Despite their best efforts, the Macs could not rally in singles play. Carter (6-2, 6-3), Schewitz (7-5, 6-4), Tilem (6-2, 6-1), Ohayon (6-2, 6-3), Hirt (6-3, 6-2), and Bendheim (6-2, 6-1) all fell in straight sets, closing out YU's 7-0 loss.

Not taking the court again until after the holidays, the Maccabees will play their home opener versus Mount Saint Mary College on Tuesday, Oct. 6th at 7:00 PM.
