Our male athlete of month for December 2014 is fencing team member Spencer Brasch. Spencer, a Chicago, Illinois native, is in his first season with the Maccabees' fencing team. In his young college fencing career competiting as a foiler, he has made a huge impact on the team already. In his first college fencing meet, the Vassar Invitational on November 9, he earned 11 wins in 15 bouts. His 11 wins is most on the team so far this season. Having been a competitive fencer since the age of six, Spencer is rated as a B12 fencer by the United States Fencing Association (USFA).
