Our April male athlete of the month is men’s volleyball player Jared Rechnitz. A graduate student, Jared is in his fourth season with the team, and last season he helped the program to its second Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship.
This season, Jared has not disappointed as he has helped lead the team to a first place showing in the HVIAC regular season standings in 2014. Currently he ranks in the top four in four statistical categories this season in the HVIAC, including kills per set (2.33), total kills (161), digs per set (2.35) and total digs (162).
A team captain, Jared is one of the friendliest and cheerful people you will ever meet. Majoring in economics, Jared's career ambition is to work in real estate development.
