Kayla Applebaum is our female Athlete of the Month for the month of April, 2015. Kayla is one of the founders of the Yeshiva softball program, having played on the team in 2013 when it evolved as a club sport on campus, 2014 when it was a non-NCAA varsity sport, and now in 2015 as an NCAA Division III sport. Through Yeshiva’s first eight games this season, Kayla batted .474 (9-for-19) with five runs, three doubles and five runs batted in. Last season she was named to the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) All-Conference team after batting .394 (13-for-33) with eight runs and 12 runs batted in.
