Joseph Schwartz

Joseph Schwartz joined the Yeshiva University men's basketball team as an assistant coach in August of 2018.

During his time at Yeshiva, the Maccabees have captured a pair of Skyline Conference Championships (2019-20 and 2021-22), earned two victories in the 2019-20 NCAA Tournament, sustained a 50-game winning streak from 2019 until 2021, and were ranked No. 1 nationally by D3hoops.com during the 2021-22 season. 

Schwartz is no stranger to coaching basketball, as he served as the head coach of The Frisch School boys varsity basketball team from 2012-2018. Prior to Frisch, Schwartz served as an assistant coach of the USA men's basketball team during the 2011 Pan American Maccabiah Games in Sao Paulo, Brazil. 

From 2010-2011, Schwartz was the head coach of the Ramaz School boys junior varsity basketball team. The Englewood, N.J. resident also had basketball head coaching stints at The Moriah School (2004-2006) and the Palisades AAU Under-18 team (1998-2004).   

Schwartz earned his Bachelor of Arts in history, and graduated with Cum Laude honors, from Queens University in 1977. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, and once again graduated with Cum Laude honors, in 1982.
