Michael Alon was named the head coach of the Yeshiva University men's golf program in September of 2022.
No stranger to Yeshiva Athletics, Alon served as head coach of its women's basketball program from 2015 until 2020. The women’s basketball team’s win total improved in each season he was at the helm thanks to his coaching and bringing in elite players to the program through his recruiting. Alon aims to take the golf team to the next level, just like he did with the women's basketball program. “I am so excited to be back at Yeshiva,” Alon said. “I am looking forward to mentoring our golf student-athletes and help them achieve their goals.”
In addition to his coaching career, Alon is a successful entrepreneur. He has founded two companies, including the Let All the Children Play Foundation, which is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives, through sports and play, of all children by developing accessible playgrounds and inclusive programs, allowing children with disabilities the opportunity to experience and play, side-by-side, with their able-bodied peers. He is also is the co-founder of AkimboConnect.com, which is a career development platform that re-imagines the hiring process while working to build a more inclusive workforce. Alon has also taught Entrepreneurship classes at HANC.
A native of Forest Hills, N.Y., Alon is a graduate of New York University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in management / economics in 1984 and Master's of Business Administration in finance in 1985.
