Chuck Salvi is in his second season as assistant coach of the men’s soccer team at Yeshiva University. His primary responsibility is working with the goalkeepers.
A native of Albuquerque, N.M., Salvi is a 2001 graduate of the University of New Mexico. Prior to that, Salvi was an undergraduate student at Franklin Pierce College and was a member of its men’s soccer team from 1996-98. While with Franklin Pierce, he helped the Ravens to NCAA Division II national tournament appearances in 1996 and 1997.
Prior to his appointment with Yeshiva, Salvi served as a graduate assistant goalkeeper coach at the University of Eastern New Mexico for its men’s and women’s soccer teams in 2011 and 2012. In 2011 the men’s program won the Lone Star Conference championship. Two of the goalkeepers under his tutelage were named to the Lone Star All Conference team.
Salvi’s experience also includes assistant girl’s soccer coach at Wilton High School in his hometown, Wilton, Connecticut. He has also had a coaching stint with Volcano High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2008 where he helped the Hawks to their first ever district championship and state semifinal appearance. He also served as assistant director of goalkeeping for the New Mexico Rush club soccer team from 2007-09.
