John Schatz joined the Yeshiva University men's soccer program as an assistant coach in January of 2021.
In addition to his coaching duties at Yeshiva, Schatz also serves as the executive operator and coach for Top Bins Only, a professional soccer training organization based in River Edge, N.J.
In Schatz's first season with Yeshiva, the Maccabees advanced to the semifinal round of the Skyline Conference Championships for the first time in program history, after outlasting Farmingdale State College in penalty kicks during the first round of the league tournament.
In 2022, Yeshiva advanced all the way to the Skyline Conference Championship match for the first time in program history after winning a pair of road conference playoff contests, including a 2-0 victory over top-seeded Manhattanville College in the Skyline Semifinal round.
Prior to Yeshiva, Schatz served as a youth soccer coach for the New York Red Bulls from March of 2016 until August of 2017.
Schatz played collegiate soccer for four years as a left back for Lynn University, a Division II school in Boca Raton, Fla. He helped the nationally ranked No. 1 Fighting Knights win the National Championship during his senior year in 2012. In Schatz's third and fourth years with the program, Lynn captured back-to-back Sunshine State Conference Championships, and made consecutive appearances in the National Championship match, in 2011 and 2012. During Schatz's junior year, Lynn was ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation.
A native of Haworth, N.J, Schatz earned his bachelor's degree in hospitality/administration management from Lynn University in May of 2013.
