Zef Joseph Kabashi is an American professional football manager and former player. He is currently the Head Coach at Yeshiva University, where he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the program.
Before joining Yeshiva University, Zef was dedicated to recruiting and developing players to reach the top levels of European football as the manager of CD Gouveia in Portugal. His career in Europe also included a notable tenure as the Head Coach of NK Rudar Velenje in the Slovenian 2nd League.
Zef’s coaching career began in the United States, where he led Queensborough Community College from 2009 to 2017. During his time there, he achieved an impressive record of 45-26-4, guiding the team to three CUNYAC Regular Season Titles (2011, 2013, & 2016) and four CUNYAC Championships (2011, 2013, 2014 & 2015). His exceptional leadership earned him the CUNYAC Coach of the Year award in 2011 and 2016, and he was twice honored with the N.J.C.A.A. Region XV Sportsmanship Award.
In addition to his collegiate coaching accomplishments, Zef has contributed to the development of young talent through his work with the Olympic Development Program, coaching the U16 & U17 Boys age groups.
Zef holds a Master’s of Science in Sport Psychology and has earned several prestigious coaching qualifications, including the UEFA ‘B’ Coaching License, USSF ‘A’ National Coaching License, N.S.C.A.A. Advanced National Diploma, and N.S.C.A.A. Director of Coaching Diploma. He remains a committed student of the game, continually enhancing his knowledge with multiple certifications from Raymond Verheijen at Football Coach Evolution.
