A New York City native, Jeff grew up an avid tennis fan, serving as a ball boy at the US Open and other pro events in Central Park and Madison Square Garden (10+ years at the US Open alone). Jeff played collegiately at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. While abroad at the University of Adelaide in Australia, he was the first American captain of the Lincoln College tennis squad.
His coaching experience began at the Riverdale Country School where he led the varsity boys to a 15-1 record and an invitation to the Mayor’s Cup; the largest scholastic tennis event for public, private and parochial schools in the U.S. and the second largest event held at the USTA National Tennis Center. He has spent the last two seasons at Stuyvesant High School, coaching the varsity girls to consecutive Mayor’s Cup appearances. In 2009, the Stuyvesant girls earned a spot in the NY PSAL Class A Championship match after going 14-1 under Jeff’s watch.
Jeff is still an avid tennis player and holds the Roosevelt Island Tennis Association titles in the Men’s Open Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles championships. A former teaching pro at the New Rochelle Racquet Club, Jeff volunteers as a USTA Junior Team Tennis coach.
