The 2012-13 academic year marks Roxanne Prendergast’s sixth season as the head coach of Yeshiva University’s women’s volleyball program, and her third as an assistant to Arnold Ross’s men’s volleyball squad. Prendergast came to YU after a four-year varsity volleyball career at Skyline Conference counterpart, College of Mount Saint Vincent. A team captain for the Dolphins in 2006, the two-time team MVP was a three-time Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (2004-06) and one-time Skyline Conference (2005) all-conference honoree from her outside hitter position. Prendergast also helped CMSV to a HVWAC title as a freshman in 2003.
Prendergast, who graduated from Mount Saint Vincent with a bachelor’s degree in English with an elementary education concentration in 2007, attended the Riverdale, N.Y., institution after a scholastic career at Westhampton Beach High School in Long Island, where she earned 10 varsity letters (four each in volleyball and track, two in soccer). As a student-athlete with the Hurricanes, she helped head coach Lenny Zaloga’s team to a pair of Suffolk County volleyball titles, in 2002 and ’03.
