Stan Watson

Stanley Watson was born in Woodruff, South Carolina and never considered himself a city person. When he was seven he moved to New York and graduated from Louis Brandeis High School He is a proud army veteran, serving in the 2nd Battalion 41st mechanized infantry unit ( aka George S. Pattons Hell on Wheels unit). He served for six months in Wildflecken Germany in 1975. He is also a charter member of the World War II Memorial Association because his father was a member of the 369th infantry in World War II.



The military has disciplined and shaped Stan into who he is today. Stan came to Yeshiva back in 1986 before many of our current athletes were even born! He is currently the assistant athletic director and the director of intramurals. He has been the mens cross country coach for the last 23 years, and has been the womens cross country coach for the last two years. Previously, he was the mens golf coach for two years and the mens assistant soccer coach for five years.



Stan was presented with the Presidential medallion in 2007 for his dedication, service and general enthusiasm which emanates from him. Stan recently submitted his autobiography They Killed All The Heroes Country Boy, City Man for publication. Previously he wrote an article for the NBA Hoop Magazine in 1998.



Stan considers athletics as something that makes someone a more wholesome person while strengthening their physical, spiritual, and emotional well beings.
