Chad Austein

Coach Chad Austein has been an avid golfer for much of his life. Starting at the age of 5, Austein developed a love for the game with his grandfather in the Catskills. He has continued to play and improve his game over the years, further developing his skills and passion for the sport. More recently, he has begun competing locally, qualifying for the MGA sectional public links championship in both 2024 and 2025. Additionally, he has competed with his son in U.S. Kids Golf Tournaments, winning the Parent/Child tournament in Connecticut in 2024, which was preceded by a second place finish in 2023.

Coach Austein’s passion for golf serves the YU Men’s Golf Team well, as he has a firm understanding and commitment to the game of golf and will work with his players to further develop their skills, confidence and overall love for the game.

Coach Austein has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Hartford in Political Science with a minor in Judaic Studies along with a master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from the University of Connecticut.
