(New York, NY) - Junior Ariel Simchi (Fairlawn, NJ/Frisch) netted an 11-7 win by decision at 141 pounds and junior Isaac Kuyunov (Hollis, NY/Hertzelia) turned in a terrific effort during a loss at 125 pounds, but the Yeshiva University Wrestling Team opened the 2008-09 season with a 48-3 loss to Hunter College on Oct. 28 at the Max Stern Athletics Center.

Simchi and Kuyunov were outstanding, scoring all of Yeshiva's team points. Also wrestling well for the Maccabees were freshman Gregory Kupsin (Bat Yam, Israel/Ort Ramat Yosef) and sophomore Jeremy Jaffe (Monsey, NY/TABC).

The 0-1 Maccabees return to action on Nov. 9 when they travel to Stevens Institute of Technology for a 3:00 p.m. start.
