(Albany, NY) – Junior Tamar Kram (Newton, MA/Maimonides) enjoyed another fine game, making 11 saves, and the Yeshiva defense allowed only two goals during the second half of play, but the YU Women's Soccer team lost 8-0 to the Sage Colleges on Sunday afternoon at SUNY Albany. With the loss, the Maccabees are now 0-4 overall and 0-4 in Skyline Conference play.
Yeshiva came out of the gate playing solid defense and holding the Gators off of the board for more than 15 minutes, but two Sage goals in a 17-second span opened the floodgates as Sage (2-0-1, 1-0 Skyline Conference) scored six times during the opening 45 minutes to take a commanding 6-0 lead at halftime.
The Maccabees battled back during the second half, tightening the defense, and allowing only two goals and 12 shots. YU was outshot 26-0 for the game, but successfully defended all six Sage corner kicks.
Yeshiva returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 17 when they travel to Medgar Evers for a 4:00 p.m. start. The game will be played at Old Boys High School Field in Brooklyn, New York.
