NEW YORK, NY – During the final week of Skyline Conference play, Yeshiva's first singles player Zach Charles went 4-0 overall and was named the conference's Player of the Week. He picked up wins over Farmingdale and Bard, and helped his team to the 5th seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
Charles started the week with a doubles win over Farmingdale 8-4, and then came from behind to win his singles match 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. At the end of the week, he teamed up again with
Joseph Itkis to get an 8-2 doubles victory. Zach went on to defeat his first singles opponent 6-3, 6-2. His two wins helped the Maccabees to a 3-4 overall conference record and a fifth seed in the conference tournament.
The quarterfinals will begin tonight, Tuesday, at Purchase College. The match is scheduled to begin at 7PM.
