NEW YORK - Freshman outside hitter Makena Owens (Sammamish, Wash.) led all players with seven kills Wednesday night at the ARC Arena, while junior Shira Genauer (Seattle, Wash.) added match-highs of nine digs and five service aces to lift the Yeshiva University women's volleyball team past Maritime College in non-conference action, 3-0 (25-10, 25-7, 25-18).

Senior setter Moriah Green (Anchorage, Alaska) added 10 assists and four kills for the Maccabees (2-4), while classmate Samantha Selesny (W. Hempstead, N.Y.) also put down a quartet of kills courtesy of a .667 hitting percentage. Owens added three aces from the service line for YU, which out-hit the Privateers (1-4) by a .259 to minus-.194 count on the evening.

Head coach Roxanne Prendergast's Yeshiva side is now off for the holiday break, and will return to action Oct. 11 against the Privateers in a Skyline Conference match at 8 p.m. in Throggs Neck, N.Y.
