BROOKLYN, N.Y.—
Itamar Ben David and
Daniel Amar netted three goals each, while
Aaron Braun scored one on Monday afternoon to lead the Yeshiva University men's soccer team to a 7-1 non conference win over St. Joseph's-Brooklyn at Aviator Field.
The win improves the Maccabees to 7-4-1 overall this season, while St. Joseph's-Brooklyn is now 4-4-0 on the year.
The visiting Maccabees raced out to a 3-0 lead in the first half en route to leading start to finish. Ben David scored his first of three goals when he netted his first 8:11 into the contest off a pass from
Adir Alon to make the score 1-0. Yeshiva scored again eight minutes later when Amar scored what would be his first of three on a shot that trickled past the host Bears' goalkeeper at 16:34. The Maccabees went up three when Ben David took a pass from Braun and scored via a breakaway at 28:55 to make the score 3-0.
St. Joseph's-Brooklyn netted a goal late in the first half when the Bears' Beka Goduadze put one in for the hosts just thirty-four seconds before halftime as Yeshiva led 3-1 after forty-five minutes of soccer.
Yeshiva pulled away with four more goals in the second half. Amar got the second half scoring started by netting his second goal of the game seventeen minutes into the second half to make the score 4-1 Yeshiva. Then Ben David completed the third hat trick of his NCAA career, and his second this season, when he scored at 67:28, off a pass by
Agustin Cygiel. Moments later Amar scored again for his third goal of the game with a point blank shot at 72:40, via a pass by
Sammy Azair, to make the score 6-1. Yeshiva closed out the scoring at 76:31 on a goal by Braun with Alon earning his second assist of the game.
The win was the second in a row for Yeshiva who outshot St. Joseph's-Brooklyn 21-12 overall, including 13-8 in the first half and 8-4 in the second half.

Maor Feinstein allowed one goal and made seven saves to earn his sixth win of the season. Bears' goalkeeper Michael Miner made two saves for St. Joseph's-Brooklyn.
Yeshiva returns to action two weeks from Tuesday as the Maccabees quest for a spot in the Skyline Conference playoffs commences. Down the stretch, the Maccabees will face conference foes Maritime College (10/21), Sarah Lawrence College (10/23), Mt. St. Mary's College (10/26) and Farmingdale State College (10/28).
