NORTON, Mass.— The Yeshiva University women's basketball team was defeated by Plymouth State 81-43 on Sunday in the consolation game of the Cheryl Warren-Powers Memorial Tournament hosted by Wheaton College (MA).
The Maccabees were led by
Julia Owen with 10 points and nine rebounds, while
Stephanie Greenberg and
Ester Kerzner had nine points each.
Yeshiva scored the first field goal of the game and led 2-0 after the opening possession, but Plymouth State went on a 10-2 run from there to lead the rest of the way.
Plymouth State outscored Yeshiva 45-20 on points in the paint and held a 16-5 advantage on points off turnovers.
Plymouth State was led by Taylor Perry who came off the bench and scored 19 points.
Yeshiva is back in action on Wednesday for its 2014-15 home opener against York College at the ARC Arena at Baruch College at 8 p.m.
