NEW YORK, N.Y.— The Yeshiva University women's basketball team lost to Berkeley College 72-59 in a Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference showdown at the ARC Arena at Baruch College on Thursday evening.
The loss was the first in HVIAC for the Maccabees who fall to 2-7 overall and in the 1-1 HVIAC, while Berkeley College is now 7-1 overall and 2-0 in HVIAC play.
Yeshiva was led by
Stephanie Greenberg with 19 points, eight rebounds and three steals.
Ester Kerzner knocked in a season-high 18 points to go along with seven rebounds and five assists, while
Simee Rosner had a double-double of 11 points and 13 rebounds. She also blocked four shots.
Berkeley College was led by Champagne Hazel with 21 points, 12 rebounds and five assists.
Berkeley held a 32-13 advantage on points off turnovers and a 23-15 edge on second chance points. The visiting Knights outscored the Maccabees 42-30 on points in the paint, and they held a 61-43 advantage in rebounds.
Yeshiva is back in action on Sunday for a game at Rutgers-Camden at 2 p.m.
