Men's Tennis Set for Skyline Conference Showdown, Will Face Farmingdale State in Semifinals

NEW YORK, N.Y.— After a regular season that was nearly flawless, the Yeshiva University men's tennis team is set to embark on its quest to win the 2014 Skyline Conference postseason championship.

Having earned the No. 2 seed for the tournament, the Maccabees will square off in a semifinal round matchup against No. 3 seed Farmingdale State College on Thursday at the Binghamton Racquet Club in Edgewater, N.J. at 8 p.m. If Yeshiva wins that match, the Maccabees will vie for the Skyline Conference championship on Sunday against the winner of Thursday's other semifinal round match between No. 1 seed Mount Saint Mary's College (MSMC) and No. 4 seed St. Joseph's-Long Island. If MSMC wins its semifinal round match, it will host the championship. If St. Joseph's-Long Island wins, the Yeshiva vs. Farmingdale State winner will host the championship.

"This is a very exciting time for Yeshiva men's tennis and it's great that the team has earned this opportunity," said head coach Ira Miller. "I think we're prepared for whatever comes our way. Each player and doubles team is aware of exactly what they need to do to maximize their performance."

Yeshiva goes into the tournament with an 11-2 overall record, including a 9-1 mark this spring. Against Skyline foes, the Maccabees finished 5-1, with their lone blemish being a 5-4 loss against MSMC (4/6).
