NEW YORK, N.Y.— The Yeshiva University women's volleyball team lost in three sets to Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference juggernaut College of New Rochelle (CNR) on Tuesday evening.
The visiting Blue Angels, the defending HVIAC champions, won by scores of 25-2, 25-12, 25-7. The Maccabees fall to 0-10 overall this season and 0-4 in HVIAC play, while CNR is now 15-4 and 3-0 in the HVIAC.
The Maccabees were led by
Elana Lesser, in her first game this season, with three kills, while
Marissa Almoslino and
Aliza Muller had one kill each.
Emily Rohan added 10 digs and two assists, while
Shaina Hourizadeh had 12 digs.
CNR had a .435 attack percentage (32 kills, five errors, 62 total attacks) and was led by Meghan King with 10 kills (no errors) on 22 total attacks for a .435 attack percentage. She also added seven service aces in the match. Melanie Lopez-Soto added five kills, eight digs, three service aces and 14 assists.
Yeshiva is back in action on Wednesday for a match at York College at 7 p.m.
