Box Score NEW YORK --- The Yeshiva University women's volleyball team earned their first Skyline Conference win of the season over visiting Purchase College on Tuesday night at the ARC Arena on the Baruch College campus in New York. Set scores were 25-19, 25-19, 25-23 in favor of the host Maccabees.
Senior setter
Emily Rohan (Dallas, Texas / Yavneh Academy of Dallas) led Yeshiva with a season-high 13 kills with six service aces, 13 digs and a block. Sophomore middle blocker
Gavriela Colton (Teaneck N.J. / Ma'ayanot) posted six blocks and four kills at the net, while senior setter
Aliza Muller (Los Angeles, Calif. / YULA) set up the offense with a season-high 14 set assists with nine digs.
Purchase was led by sophomore outside hitter Julia Chirlin (Albany, N.Y. / Albany H.S.) with nine kills and four digs.
The pivotal moment came in the third set with Yeshiva trailing 19-17. The Maccabees reeled off six straight points including four off Muller's serve to take control, then held on for the win.
With the victory, the Maccabees are now 2-11 overall and 1-5 in the Skyline standings while the Panthers head home at 0-18 and 0-6 against league opponents.
Yeshiva is back on the court on Sunday when they host a Skyline Conference Tri-Match against visiting teams from Mount Saint Mary College and Sarah Lawrence College at ARC Arena. The action begins at 11:00 a.m.
