RIVERDALE, N.Y.— The Yeshiva men's basketball team lost a close one to the College of Mount Saint Vincent (CMSV) 54-50 in a Skyline Conference matchup  on Wednesday evening.
 
Yeshiva is now 11-9 overall this season and 8-6 in Skyline Conference play. CMSV improved to 16-6 on the year and 12-3 in the Skyline Conference.
 
Yeshiva was led by Benjy Ritholtz and Benjamin Oirech with 12 points each, while Shaje Weiss added 11.
 
CMSV was led by Ammad Alkhulaidi and Antonio Johnson with 13 points each.
 
The Maccabees led most of the way.  They opened the game scoring the first six points, and Yeshiva never trailed in the first half. The Maccabees led by as much as 13 in the first stanza, and Yeshiva led by nine at halftime with the score 28-19.
 
Yeshiva opened the second half on a 10-2 run to push its lead to 38-21 with just over three minutes gone by.
 
The host Dolphins cut into the lead the rest of the second half and eventually tied the score at 48 with 2:45 to go. CMSV took a 50-48 lead, its first lead of the night, with 2:08 left to play. CMSV extended its lead to as much as six in the final minute to secure the win.
 
The Dolphins outscored Yeshiva 26-10 on points off turnovers as the Maccabees committed 25 turnovers compared to 11 by CMSV.
 
Yeshiva returns to action on Sunday for a game at Sage College at 3 p.m.
