PURCHASE, N.Y.— The Yeshiva women's basketball played its final road game of the season and was defeated by Purchase College 84-45 on Tuesday evening.
The loss leaves the Maccabees at 3-17 this season, while Purchase is now 4-19.
Yeshiva was led by
Julia Owen with 16 points, while
Stephanie Greenberg had 14 points.
Simee Rosner had another double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Purchase was led by Elizabeth Osowiecki with 26 points and nine rebounds.
Yeshiva committed 28 turnovers compared to 17 by the host Panthers, and Purchase held a 25-4 advantage on points off turnovers.
The Maccabees led for the first five minutes of the game. Purchase College took the lead for good by going on an 8-0 run to turn a 10-9 Yeshiva lead into a 17-10 Purchase advantage. The Maccabees were still within eight points of the lead with just under five minutes to go before halftime. They trailed 26-18 with 4:42 to play before the Panthers closed out the first stanza with a 15-5 run to take an eighteen point lead at halftime with the score 41-23 Purchase.
Purchase increased its lead throughout the second half and led by as much as forty points late in the game.
Yeshiva is back in action on Thursday for its 2014-15 season finale against the College of Mount Saint Vincent at the Wellness Center at the College of New Rochelle at 8 p.m.
