BOX SCOREEDGEWATER, N.J.— The Yeshiva University men's tennis team, for the second time in as many days, picked up a shutout win as the Maccabees beat Brooklyn College 9-0 at the Binghamton Racquet Club on Monday evening.
Yeshiva improves to 3-1 overall, while Brooklyn falls to 0-1.
At No. 1 and No. 2 doubles, Yeshiva won 8-0, while the No. 3 team won its match 8-1. At No. 1 doubles,
David Papis Elon and
Charles Saka earned the whitewash, while at No. 2 doubles,
Dmitri Lebedyev and
Adam Wannon won 8-0. No. 3 doubles saw
Meir Burk and
Eitan Rudansky win 8-1.
In singles play, Lebedyev at No. 2 and Burk at No. 5 picked up 6-0, 6-0 wins. Meanwhile at No. 1 singles, Papis Elon won 6-3, 6-0, while Saka was a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 3. At No. 4 singles,
Akiva Katz beat his opponent 6-1, 6-3, and at No. 6, Rudansky won 6-2, 6-0.
Yeshiva is back in action on Wednesday for a match against Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham at the Binghamton Racquet Club at 8 p.m.
