PALISADES, N.J.— The Yeshiva baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader at the College at Old Westbury on Friday morning, losing the first game 16-6 and the second game 17-0.
Yeshiva is now 0-12 overall and 0-10 in the Skyline Conference, while Old Westbury improves to 15-8 overall and 6-4 in the conference.
In the first game, the Maccabees ripped 10 hits.
Shmuli Goldis led the way in the opener by going 3-for-4 with a run and two runs batted in, while
Joseph Bankier was 2-for-3 with a pair of runs.
Zachary Perl was 1-for-3 with a double and a run, while
Rephael Rosenberg and Zev Rosenberg both went 1-for-3 with a run and run batted in each.
Tani Pollack suffered the game one loss. He pitched 6.0 innings and allowed 12 runs (eight earned) on 10 hits while striking out three.
Old Westbury was led in game one by Tommy Ziegen who was 3-for-4 with a triple, three runs and two runs batted in.
In the second game, the Maccabees got one hit each by Rosenbaum, Perl,
Josh Gurin and
Samuel Rhodes.
Jacob Henry started game two and pitched 2.2 innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits.
Old Westbury was led in the second game by Ziegen who went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs and four runs batted in.
Yeshiva is back in action on Sunday for a doubleheader at Maritime College at 11 a.m.
