Men's Soccer Falls in Heartbreaker to Mount Saint Vincent

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking Skyline loss to Mount Saint Vincent, 2-1, at the Athletic Field at Marillac on Sunday afternoon. Yeshiva now falls to 1-2 in Skyline play, while Mount Saint Vincent ups its record to 1-0 in conference play.

The Maccabees (1-4, 1-2 Skyline) and the Dolphins (2-2-1, 1-0 Skyline) were tied at one late in the second half, but Rodrigo Silva scored the game-winning goal in the 85th minute for Mount Saint Vincent.

Earlier in the match, Yeshiva struck first as freshman forward Netanel Silberman headed the ball into the net off of feeds from junior midfielder Aaron Braun and senior forward Itamar Ben David to give the Maccabees a 1-0 advantage in the 27th minute. That would be the score going into the half.

For the match, the Maccabees outshot the Dolphins, 18-10, and had the edge in corner kicks, 7-2.
