Box Score BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's volleyball team dropped a Skyline Conference contest to Sarah Lawrence College in straight sets, at the Campbell Sports Center on Thursday evening. Set scores were 25-11, 25-21, and 25-19.
After the Gryphons (3-2, 1-0 Skyline) won the first game, a service ace by junior opposite hitter
Dalia Sieger gave Yeshiva (0-7, 0-1 Skyline) the early lead in the second. Sarah Lawrence scored five unanswered points to take a 5-2 advantage. Later in the set, the Maccabees took capitalized on the Gryphons' mistakes to go on a 7-0 run and regain the lead, 14-9. The home team took the momentum back by scoring 14 of the next 18 points to take a commanding lead, on their way to winning its second set and putting Yeshiva on the brink.
The Maccabees got off to a strong start in the third set, as sophomore middle blocker
Sarah Rowan scored four service aces to put Yeshiva up 7-0. Sarah Lawrence slowly chipped away at the lead and eventually tied the set at 11. A kill by senior middle blocker
Gavriela Colton gave Yeshiva the advantage once again, 12-11, but Sarah Lawrence countered by scoring four unanswered points. The home team never trailed again for the remainder of the match, winning the set 25-19, to clinch its first Skyline win of the year.
For the match, Colton and Rowan each produced three kills, while the former had two blocks and the latter scored four service aces. Senior libero

Yeshiva will be back in action on Sunday, for a Skyline Conference Tri-Match at St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn). The Maccabees will battle the host Bears at 11:00 a.m., and then take on the Rams of Farmingdale State at 1:00 p.m.
