Box Score BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's volleyball team opened the 2016 season with a non-conference loss to Pratt Institute in straights sets on Thursday evening. Set scores were 8-25, 20-25, and 15-25.
The Maccabees (0-1) only lead of the match came early in the second set, as an attack error by Pratt (1-0) gave Yeshiva the early 1-0 advantage. The Cannoneers led wire-to-wire in the opening and closing sets.
Leading the way for Maccabees was senior middle blocker
Gavriela Colton, who slammed home six kills and had a match-high 21 attacks. Junior middle blocker
Sarah Rowan produced three kills and scored two service aces.

Ilana Leggiere recorded two kills and produced three digs, while classmate
Dalia Sieger and junior outside hitter
Emily Neckonoff each had one kill of their own. Senior defensive specialist
Shaina Hourizadeh helped anchor the defense with a team-high five digs, while junior setter
Yael Ghelman produced a match-high nine assists.
The Maccabees' home opener will be Tuesday, against Cedar Crest at Baruch College, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
