PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's soccer team suffered a Skyline Conference loss to St. Joseph's L.I., 3-1, out on Long Island on Tuesday evening.
The Golden Eagles (1-5, 1-1 Skyline) scored the lone goal in the opening half, as senior midfielder Justin Heredia scored from inside the box in the 12
th minute. St. Joseph's L.I. extended its lead in the second stanza, as junior forward Justin Busto capitalized on a deflection in the 59
th minute.
The Maccabees (1-6-1, 1-4-1 Skyline) got on the board just under four minutes later, as sophomore forward
Albert Dichy received a cross from junior midfielder
Aaron Braun and slid the ball into the back of the cage to pull Yeshiva within a one goal deficit.
In the 66
th minute, Kyle Conway's first goal of the season gave the home team insurance as the Golden Eagles went on to win the match, 3-1.
Yeshiva was outshot 20-14, but had a slight edge in corner kicks, 7-6. Junior goalkeeper
Maor Feinstein made four saves.
The Maccabees will be back in action on Sunday, for a Skyline Conference home match against Mount Saint Mary, at Votee Park beginning at 8:30 p.m.
