Box Score JAMAICA, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's volleyball team dropped a non-conference match to York College, in straight sets, at the York College Gym on Thursday evening. Set scores were 25-23, 25-20, and 25-20.

In the first set, the Cardinals (1-3) jumped out to a 20-13 advantage. Services aces by Rowan, junior outside hitter

Yael Ghelman highlighted a 10-2 run by the Maccabees, giving them a 23-22 lead. York would recover and score the final three points to clinch the first game.
In the second set, Yeshiva scored seven points thanks to three kills by Colton and two from Leggierre, to catapult Yeshiva to a 12-10 advantage. The Cardinals stormed back by scoring eight out of the game's next nine points to give the home team the lead for the remainder of the set.
In the third game, Colton's service ace gave Yeshiva a 2-1 lead. The Cardinals surged to a 21-13 lead, but the Maccabees would not go down without a fight. Rowan scored two services during a 7-1 Yeshiva run to narrow York's lead to 22-20. The rally would fall short as the Cardinals scored the last three points to clinch the set and the match.
For the contest, Ghelman had 11 assists, while senior libero
Shaina Hourizadeh helped anchor the defense with four digs.
The Maccabees will be back in action on Sunday, for a tri-match at the Culinary Institute of America. The first match will be against Pratt at 1:00 p.m., and then against the host Steels at 3:00 p.m.
