OLD BETHPAGE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University roller hockey team closed out the regular season with a pair of games out on Long Island on Sunday. The Maccabees defeated Boston University, 4-2, but fell to Stony Brook, 4-3.
In the loss to the Seawolves, the Maccabees gave up two goals in the third period that broke a 2-2 tie. YU was able to get back into it, thanks to a goal by sophomore forward
Jesse Gordon on an assist from classmate
Ari Drazin, but it would not be enough. Drazin also assisted on Gordon's goal that opened the scoring for Yeshiva, and added a goal of his own in the second. Sophomore goaltender
Joseph Robin made 21 saves in net.
In the victory over Boston University, Gordon and sophomore forward
Jake Ratzker each scored two goals, while classmate
Amir Gavarin had a helper on all four goals. Sophomore goaltender
Jonathan Jaroslawicz turned aside 27 shots on net
