Men's Tennis Concludes Regular Season With Skyline Win at St. Joseph's Long Island

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's tennis team earned a hard-fought Skyline Conference win over St. Joseph's Long Island, 8-1, out in Suffolk Country on Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Maccabees now finish the regular season with an undefeated record in conference play, and extend the Skyline winning streak to 23 consecutive matches, dating back to 2014. Yeshiva clinches the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Skyline Conference championships, as the Macs will aim for their fourth straight conference championship.

Against St. Joseph's Long Island (3-7, 2-6 Skyline) Yeshiva (13-1, 8-0 Skyline) won all three doubles flights and was victorious in five out of six singles contests. Sophomore Adam Rosemblaum cruised to a win at #1 singles, winning both sets by scores of 6-0, 6-1. He teamed up with freshman Lior Brik, dominating the first doubles position, 8-0. Brik came back to win at #2 singles, 6-0, 6-1.

Senior Eitan Rudansky won a tight first set at #4 singles, 7-5, but dominated in the second set by a score of 6-1. In doubles, he joined forces with senior Adam Wannon to win a close doubles match in the second position, 8-4.

Sophomore Naftali Perlysky cruised at #5 singles, 6-0, 6-2. Senior Avi Seidman earned a hard-fought #6 singles victory, after falling in the first set. Seidman came back to win the second set, and then came out victorious in the third set tiebreaker, 10-3. Perlysky and Seidman teamed up to win at #3 doubles, 8-5.

Yeshiva earns a bye and will host a Skyline Conference semifinal match against the first round winner of Purchase/Mount Saint Mary. The Maccabees' semifinal match will take place at the Binghamton Racquet Club, on Thursday, beginning at 8:00 p.m.
