FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's tennis team suffered a Skyline Conference loss to Farmingdale State, 8-1, on the FSC Tennis Courts on Tuesday afternoon. With the loss, Yeshiva (1-6, 1-4 Skyline) is now mathematically eliminated from conference postseason contention.
This marks the first time that Yeshiva will not be competing in the Skyline Conference championships since 2013. Yeshiva clinched a berth in the Skyline semifinal round five seasons in a row, including last year's historic season in which the Maccabees won the Skyline tournament title and became the first women's program in school history to compete in the NCAA tournament.
For the afternoon, the Rams (10-3, 4-1 Skyline) won all three doubles flights and went 5-1 in singles competition. Junior
Bailey Frohlich earned Yeshiva's lone victory, winning her No. 1 singles match, 6-0, 6-4.
Yeshiva will host Purchase College, in the final Skyline match of the Year, on Thursday. First serve at Queens College is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
