NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's volleyball team suffered a non-conference loss to Brooklyn College, in straight sets, at the ARC Arena on Sunday afternoon. Set scores were 25-7, 25-18, and 25-6.
The Bulldogs (13-6) earned a one-sided win in the opening set, but the Maccabees (1-8) improved their play in the second stanza. In that second game, senior setter
Batya Schreier slammed home a kill to give the Macs a 1-0 advantage. Later in the set, senior middle blocker
Abigail Epstein produced a kill, and senior defensive specialist
Melissa Stock followed with a service ace, to propel Yeshiva to a 9-8 lead. Four consecutive attack errors by Brooklyn gave Yeshiva its largest lead of the match, 14-11. However, the Bulldogs answered with nine consecutive points to take a commanding 20-14 advantage. Senior middle blocker
Tehilla Teigman ended Brooklyn's streak with a kill, but it would not be enough, as the Bulldogs won the second set and put the Maccabees on the brink.
Brooklyn led from wire-to-wire in the third game. Teigman had a pair of kills in the set, but Brooklyn went on to win the stanza, 25-6, and clinch its 13
th victory of the season.
For the Maccabees, Teigman had four kills, two aces, a pair of blocks, and a match-high seven digs. Schreier had a solid afternoon with two kills, a team-high five assists, one block, and four digs. Senior outside hitter
Kayla Gross anchored the defense with four digs and added an assist on the offensive end. Epstein contributed to Yeshiva's balanced defensive play with four digs of her own, while Stock had three digs to go along with a block. Senior setter

Julie Chase each had one dig, while senior right side hitter
Ilana Karp slammed home a kill and registered a pair of digs.
The Maccabees will take on the host Panthers of Purchase College, up in Westchester, N.Y., on Tuesday evening. First serve is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
