CALDWELL, N.J. – The Yeshiva University women's cross country team competed in the Cougar Chase, on the campus of Caldwell University, on Sunday morning. Out of eight schools that participated, the Maccabees finished fifth overall, with 146 points. Yeshiva averaged 23:55.89 as a team.
Leading the way for the Maccabees was senior
Shirah Isaacs, who finished 25
th overall in the 5k race, with a time of 22:06.94.The first-year runner averaged 7:07.1 per mile. Senior
Ayelet Itzhak was the 28
th runner to cross the finish line, completing the race at 23:01.04. Right behind her was first-year runner
Amanda Kasztl, who finished 29
th overall, with a time of 23:15.29. Senior
Rivka Greenberg finished in 34
th place, crossing the finish line at the 24:17.74 mark.
Rounding out the Yeshiva student-athletes were sophomore
Sarah Russman (44
th overall at 26:58.42) and classmate
Leeba Goldenhersh (46
th overall at 27:36.37).
Yeshiva will compete in the Immaculata University Invitational, on Thursday. Race time is to be announced.
