PURCHASE, NY - Competing in the most important event on their schedule, the Yeshiva Women's Cross Country Team took part in the Skyline Conference Championships, finishing seventh on Sunday, Oct. 26th.
Before the meet, the Maccabees took the chance to thank their graduating seniors, honoring:
Chaya Trapedo, Daniella Pancer,
Sydney Lugo,
Aviva Klahr,
Moselle Goldstein,
Aliza Feldman,
Aliza Billet, and
Bryna Berger.
The Macs faced off against 11 other Skyline teams, running alongside: Sarah Lawrence College, the United States Merchant Marine Academy, Maritime College, Farmingdale State College, Mount Saint Mary College, Manhattanville University, St. Joseph's University Long Island, St. Joseph's University Brooklyn, Purchase College, The College at Old Westbury, and the University of Mount Saint Vincent in the Women's 6k.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- As a team, the Maccabees finished seventh of 12 teams with a score of 171, beating out SJLI, SJBK, Purchase, Old Westbury, and UMSV.
- On an individual level, YU was led by Pancer, with the Brooklyn native placing 12th with a time of 26:18.5 at her third and final Skyline Championships.
- Finishing just seconds behind her teammate, Moselle Goldstein placed 13th, slotting in with a time of 26:24.7.
- Rounding out the field for the Macs, Lugo finished 37th at 30:52.8, Berger finished 55th at 32:42.4, Klahr finished 61st at 35:09.7, Billet finished 70th at 36:33.8, and Trapedo finished 76th at 38:55.5.
