NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's soccer team suffered a hard-fought loss to Skyline rival Maritime College, 2-0, on Randall's Island Field 10 on Sunday morning.
The Privateers (2-6, 1-1 Skyline) scored a goal in each half to overcome a strong defensive effort by the Maccabees (0-7, 0-4 Skyline).
Mackenzie Fabiani put the visiting team on the board in the 20
th minute, as her 25-yard shot went off the hands of sophomore goalkeeper
Rivka Lindenblatt, and into the net. Leigh Kouril was credited with the assist.
Maritime struck again in the 52
nd minute, as Brianna Etienne received a through pass from Nikki Sarubbi and propelled the ball into the net from inside the box, extending the Privateers' lead to 2-0. That would be the final score.
For the afternoon, Maritime outshot Yeshiva, 24-6, and took all 13 corner kicks. In goal, Lindenblatt made 14 saves, while her counterpart Cammie Havens turned aside all five shots she faced to earn the shutout victory. For Yeshiva, sophomore defender

The Maccabees will battle the Rams of Farmingdale State on Tuesday, in a conference contest out on Long Island, beginning at 4:00 p.m.
