EDGEWATER, N.J. – The Yeshiva University men's tennis team earned a non-conference win over the College of Staten Island, 7-2, at the Binghamton Racquet Club on Tuesday evening. Yeshiva now advances to 7-5, while CSI falls to 1-1.
The Maccabees won all three doubles flights and were victorious in four out of six singles matchups.
Leading the way for Yeshiva was freshman
Dor Gutterman, who dominated at #1 singles, 6-3, 6-0. He teamed with junior
Mikey Ozery to earn a convincing win at the first doubles position, 8-3. Ozery came back to win at #2 singles, 6-0, 6-4.
Sophomore
Lior Brik and freshman
Ezra Rudansky were victorious at #2 doubles, 8-3. Senior
Charlie Friedman teamed up with junior
Naftali Perlysky to win at #3 doubles, 8-4. In singles play, Friedman earned a narrow win at the third position, 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8). It also took Brik a 10-point tiebreaker to win at #4 singles, 7-5, 2-6, 1-0 (10-6).
Yeshiva will return from the break on Wednesday, April 11, for a Skyline match at Purchase College. First serve is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
